Maradona’s Old Clubs, All Winners This Past Weekend

The weekend after the Legend dies, each of his former clubs win apart from Newell’s Old Boys...

In an amazing sequence of results, every one of Diego Maradona’s former clubs won this past weekend, the first after his untimely passing, except for Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina. Newell’s played against Boca Juniors another of Maradona’s clubs, so they could hardly both win, could they?

But in that clash we’ll side with Boca, since it is the Argentinian club that meant most to the player.

The results were as follows. For the Argentinian clubs, their matches were all in the Liga Professional Argentina, and for the others in Spain and Italy, each played in La Liga or Serie A league matches...

Argentinos Juniors W4-1 at Aldosivi

Boca Juniors W2-0 at home to Newell’s Old Boys

Barcelona W4-0 at home to Osasuna

Napoli W4-0 at home to AS Roma

Sevilla W1-0 at Huesca
