Zakaria Diallo appeared to be unamused upon his withdrawal from the action in the 57th minute of last night’s loss to Minnesota United.
After being replaced by Omar Browne, the 32 year-old French defender left the arena and advanced straight towards the tunnel, refusing customary handshakes with coaching staff and team-mates alike.
Asked after the game at his post-match press conference if he had yet had the opportunity to speak with the player, Remi Garde responded saying, “No. I have not.”
The move appeared to be tactical with forward Browne entering the fray as the Impact chased down a 2-3 deficit. But it was not a good evening for those in central defence for Montreal, despite Diallo earning an assist and Rudy Camacho scoring his first goal for the club.
