Impact ties Toronto FC 1-1, eliminates Toronto from MLS playoff race

Felipe's goal sends Toronto FC to an early Christmas vacation.

The Montreal Impact have officially eliminated Toronto FC from the MLS Playoffs race, expediting a process long overdue if you listen to TFC fans since Ryan Nelsen was let go. The Impact's 1-1 draw was a well earned result but the 2012 MLS expansion club will finish the season without winning one MLS away game.

Warren Creavalle opens the score with a well placed shot though Hassoun Camara would have been expected to be more aggressive on that play. Captain Patrice Bernier was back as a starter, after a month-long layoff due to a foot injury. His last game was with the Canadian National Team during a 3-1 win over Jamaica at BMO Field.

For me, it was one of the more exciting and emotional games we had against Toronto-Patrice Bernier

The TFC home base smiled again for the captain when he delivered a beautiful pass to Andres Romero who then set up Felipe Martins for the game-tying goal. The game was full of emotions and full of heated " debates " as the Impact felt the wrath of the referee with 2 red cards to Heath Pearce and Hassoun Camara.

Even down to 9 men for about 10 minutes, le bleu-Blanc-noir held the draw and crashed Toronto FC's party.
