The New Mexico left-midfielder , that can also play left back, is the 8th pick overall of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft.
Blake Smith was projected to be one of the top left midfielders taken in the SuperDraft . He was the only player among the 72 invited to the Combine to place in the Top 5 in tests of speed, agility and power.
His versatility should bring a lot of options for Montreal on the left side, either as a left back or left midfielder.
